 Activity
Report:
The curtain has fallen on the First
International Scientific Conference “Industrial Gases” which
was held on March 11, 2009, in the Bauman Moscow State
Technical University (BMSTU) in Moscow. The conference was
devoted to the century anniversary of the First Congress of
Russian Refrigerating Engineers.
E-4 “Refrigeration & Criogenic Technology,
Conditioning & Life-Support Systems” Department of the BMSTU
and the Exhibition Company "Mir-Expo" have organized the
Conference.
The organizing committee of the Conference was
headed by Professor A.M. Arkharov (Head of E-4 Department of
the BMSTU) and Doctor Vaclav Chrz (President of the
Committee, A2, International Institute of Refrigeration).
The event was carried out under the auspices
of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR, France).
Doctor Chrz presented a survey paper of the IIR activities
on behalf of IIR President Didier Coulomb.
The Conference was opened by Deputy Principal
on International Relations, Professor G.P. Pavlikhin. He
greeted the participants of the Conference on behalf of
Rector of the BMSTU, member of the Russian Academy of
Science I.B. Fedorov.
All in all, some 70 Russian and foreign
scientists and experts, students and research students of
Russian and Ukrainian Institutions of Higher Education, as
well as the following scientific-and-production enterprises:
"NPO Geliymash", JSC Cryogenmash, Khrom Ltd., Iceblick Ltd.,
Chart Ferox, a.s. ("Chart Ferox"), Odessa State Academy of
Refrigeration, St.-Petersburg State University Of Low
Temperatures and Food Technologies, OOO "Akela-N", the
Russian State Medical University (RSMU), Federal State-owned
Enterprise “Scientific-and-Production Center of
Rocket-and-Space Industry”, Krasnodarkraigaz Ltd. took part
in the Conference.
There were 19 reports made during the
Conference. The main topics of the scientific forum were the
manufacture, storage and shipment of industrial gases,
processing of gas condensate, an applied use of industrial
gases in medicine and sports, acquisition of new scientific
information on properties of working fluids of
low-temperature systems.
The International Research Conference
“Industrial Gases” has provided an opportunity to hold a
fruitful discussion of the issues of further development of
gas technologies and modernization of manufacturing on the
basis of application of innovative technologies development.
The Second Conference “Industrial Gases” is
planned to be held in March, 2011.
