One of the most important needs is funds, making it possible to transform the idea into a profitable business. The process of raising funds demands both knowledge and contacts. Most entrepreneurs raise money only once. On the other hand, investors know the process very well. It is therefore important to equip the entrepreneur with knowledge so the new venture can present itself favourably. Further, the entrepreneur should be put in a situation where many investors are approached at the same time providing an opportunity for the entrepreneur to negotiate better terms and conditions on the funding.

The basic infrastructure is already in place through the innovation centres, incubators etc, mentioned above. However, the process of moving on from this infrastructure is inefficient. There is a capital need, but no marketplace. Seed Forum's innovation is to funnel this infrastructure through a distribution channel specifically targeted to meet this need.
